Our Vision |
| I. Our
vision for Advent is to be a dynamically growing, spiritually exciting
Church, reaching out to our community in the love of Jesus Christ. II. Advent will be a Church guided by God's purposes. Advent exists to: 1. Celebrate God's presence through Worship (Ps. 34.3). 2. Educate God's people through Discipleship (Eph. 4:12b-13). 3. Incorporate God's family through Fellowship (Eph 2:19). 4. Demonstrate God's love through Ministry (Eph. 4:12a) 5. Communicate God's word through Evangelism (Acts 1:8) III. Advent values: 1. We Value Christ-Centeredness. "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord..." (Phil. 2:11 NIV) 2. We Value Stewardship "now it is required that those who have been given a trust prove
faithful." (1 Cor.4:2 NIV) 3. We Value Excellence "Whatever you do, work at it with all you hearts, as working for the Lord..." (Col. 3:23 NIV) 4. We Value Communication "Reliable communication permits progress." (Prv. 13:17 LB) 5. We Value Warm and Trusting Relationships. "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Cor. 13:13 NIV) 6. We Value People's Uniqueness. "There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord." (Cor.12:5 NIV) 7. We Value Enthusiasm.
