Fasting & Prayer Initiative, Week 12

“17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”—Matthew 6:17-18 ESV

Blessings on your Sunday afternoon!

As our prayer focus continues, I want to remind you of the exhortation of Matthew above. While our prayer participates with what is happening in the heavenlies, our impact is strengthened by the fact that what we are doing is done in secret. Since we have a significant group participating together, to me, this brings encouragement that I am not engaging alone. However, we are not wearing sweatshirts identifying ourselves as fasting; this is between the Lord and ourselves.

So, as we go forward, remember that our secret faithfulness will bring forth fruit in the visible world.

This week in addition to our prayer for spiritual renewal, let us also intercede for our president and his bride.

The Return is over but many have not returned to the Lord, so we pray for gates of heaven to be open so that many will come into Kingdom. Revival always starts in the Church, but it will also always bring unbelievers to know the reality of the King of Kings in their lives.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. 2 “For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you. 3 “Nations will come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 “Lift up your eyes round about and see; They all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, And your daughters will be carried in the arms. 5 “Then you will see and be radiant, And your heart will thrill and rejoice.”—Isaiah 60:1-5a (NASB)

This passage has been highly impactful in my life in the past; the Lord has brought it back to me. I encourage you to invest in it this week as a focal point in praying for multitudes to come to faith in Jesus.

Bless you as you labor unseen in the Harvest at the end of the age!
