Fasting & Prayer – January 10, 2021

Greetings on The Lord’s Day!

What a blessing in the ministry of prayer during a very challenging season in our nation. We have been through a brutal week when we have seen unrest and glimpses of violence in our nation’s capital that belong more in a third world country.

When I saw the scene depicted in this letter, it reminded me that there are times when we need a quiet place for restoration. May you find that place this week in Scripture and under the covering of the wings of our Lord.

As we have been believing God to guard our nation’s government and rich Biblical foundation, it appears that we are heading in a direction that could lead to even further division than prior to the November election. Inauguration Day is rapidly approaching, don’t let up on your prayer pedal!

The Apostle Paul said the following: Gal. 6:9 (NASB) Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. I consider our intercession to be “doing good” on behalf of the USA. Therefore, we our to continue and not grow weary, because as this verse declares: in due time we WILL reap (a harvest). Harvest time may be January 20th, it may be later. The timing in in the Lord’s hand, but we are offering up ammunition to the heavenly armies that are doing battle on behalf of God’s people and the forces of darkness that are seeking to dismantle our great nation.

This week I offer you the following passages to assist you:

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NASB) But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

Romans 8:37-39 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.
