Fasting & Prayer – January 24, 2021

Welcome to a new week to seek the Lord! As we move forward, it is still wildly appropriate to pray for our government, more than ever. Likewise, it is still on my heart and on the hearts of many across our nation to continue to pray for the Lord to move in power in our nation for spiritual renewal.

So, with those two ongoing themes in mind, I offer you the following two prayers as starting points:

First for our President:
Father, we lift up President Biden to you. Draw him into a strong relationship with You. Give him a true servant spirit, one who is a person after Your own heart. Anoint him with the Holy Spirit’s
power, that he might experience Your strength in every situation. Let integrity and honesty guide every decision as He first looks to You for supernatural help and strength. Turn his heart from
distractions and temptations that could bring harm rather than help to his life, his family, and to the people he serves. Make him a leader in every respect, morally and spiritually strong. Enlighten his mind with discernment, wisdom, and justice. Let it be so Lord, amen.

For the birthing of The Third Great Awakening:
Dear Lord, we are living in an age where many people are wandering aimlessly to find something to give them meaning and life. What they seek they do not find, because they are not finding it in the true source of life itself, You. Father, we come together as Jesus Followers asking for revival in our day. Father, we desire for our friends, families, and neighbors to be open and to seek and find You. We invite Your Holy Spirit to pour out onto the people You have made. We ask You to perform miracles, wonders, and to speak to the people You crafted with Your hands. We pray that truth will be brought to Light in each and every person You have created. It is only by Your Spirit that the truth found in Jesus, can be truly known and so we implore you for a revival of the people of our nation. This we pray in Jesus’ powerful name.

I offer the following passages for your encouragement:

Habakkuk 3:2 (NCV) LORD, I have heard the news about you; I am amazed at what you have done. LORD, do great things once again in our time; make those things happen again in our own days. Even when you are angry, remember to be kind.

Psalm 80:19 (NASB) O LORD God of hosts, restore us; Cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved.

Matthew 6:33 (NASB) But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 24:14 (NASB) This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
