Welcome to our weekly focus on prayer for our nation!
We continue to see that as a nation, at its core, that we are drifting away from the Biblical foundation established by our founding fathers.
In his book, Harbinger II – The Return, Jonathan Cahn warns that as believers we need to personally repent to prepare for what the Lord is about to do. Unless revival comes to America, we are facing imminent judgment. His thesis is that America has a covenant relationship w the Creator of the Universe. Following the pattern of the nation of Israel. Our founding fathers formed this nation based on prayer & a commitment to honor the Lord.
Cahn then asserts that America has turned against God’s Holy Word. Judgment is coming. We are in a window of grace, but that window is closing. This is a time continue in intercession for revival, first in the church and then in the nation This really is the focus of our Prayer and Fasting Initiative that we established last summer.
This week’s letter comes to encourage you to continue in your commitment! May the following passages assist you in seeking the Lord in prayer.
Daniel 2:20-22 (NASB) Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. 21 It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. 22 It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.
Matthew 6:9-10 (NASB) 9 Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Isaiah 60:2-3 (NCV) Darkness now covers the earth; deep darkness covers her people. But the LORD shines on you, and people see his glory around you. 3 Nations will come to your light; kings will come to the brightness of your sunrise.
Psalm 33:12-20 (NASB) Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance. 13 The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; 14 From His dwelling place He looks out On all the inhabitants of the earth, 15 He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works. 16 The king is not saved by a mighty army; A warrior is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a false hope for victory; Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness, 19 To deliver their soul from death And to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
Proverbs 14:34 (NASB) Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.
Daniel 9:19 (NCV) Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear us and do something! For your sake, don’t wait, because your city and your people are called by your name.
Lord Jesus bless you this week!
